For many years I have embraced Christmas, loving the image of baby Jesus dressed in swaddling
clothes and lying in a manger. For me, this image of Jesus reminds me that new starts are possible, that forgiveness can be granted and that grace is a very special free gift. I do not believe however, that this plethora of blessings should be celebrated for only one day on our calendar.
This is where you come in friends. If you believe that your life is better off because of your personal
relationship with Christ – then you need to embrace the opportunities that come your way to share the Good News about Jesus. Consider the people in your life and share with someone an invitation to
attend a Wednesday night dinner or our candlelight Christmas Eve Service. Or invite them to share a
cup of coffee or a glass of sweet tea so you can get to know each other better. Pray before you get
together with them, that God will bless your conversation and that you will get to share how Jesus has changed your life. Then trust in the Holy Spirit* for the results.
*John 16:8-11 8When he [Holy Spirit] comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin
and righteousness and judgment: 9 about sin, because people do not believe in me; 10 about righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; 11 and about judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned.
As a new year approaches, let’s be about the Great Commission that Jesus has called us to in
Matthew 28:19. Sharing the Good News that Jesus is alive, in 2025! And that the greatest relationship
of all is just a “yes” away through personal faith in Jesus Christ.
God bless you and keep you!
